Final Thoughts....

At the risk of sounding like a traitor to my generation, I would like to take this opportunity to say that this technology class was, by far, the most challenging class I have had thus far. While I am admittedly a procrastinator, there were many assignments that I literally put hours into with no positive results. As the semester dragged on, I got the hang of some things, but others, well, not so much. There were a few assignments that I missed simply as a result of being too busy; three jobs and grad school is WAY too much, I now know. But others, I would try for hours and eventually either give up or post what I had, hoping that they was right.

But, unlike the classes that I've taken that simply require mindless essays and discussion postings, I actually learned something in this class. I grew more and more excited to implement these uses of technology in my own classroom, both as learning, teaching, and planning tools. I've wondered a few times throughout the last year of grad school if it was even worth it; the classes weren't really teaching me anything and the pay raise isn't even that great, but this class, and one other that I have this semester actually better prepared me for a career in teaching.

Well, here's my WebQuest. A day late, story of my life.
Anyhow, this was a great assignment. I had so much fun creating it. Its just sucky that I don't have a classroom in which to implement it. But when I do, I'm definitely going to try it out.

I saw some posts from other people stating that they would have rather edited the actual format and sections themselves. I agree, to a point. There were some changes that I would like to have made to the actual layout, but simply creating this project, for me, was a task in itself. I was alright with the limited amount of choices, only because it limited the amount of mistakes I could have made and the amount of confusion (and animosity) I felt towards the multiple uses to technology being implemented.

On a more positive note, however, I did use many of the resources given to us in this class on this project. RubiStar is the greatest web creation of all time, besides Google.

It took me a lot longer than I expected, not because I had problems, but because I really got into it. I worked on it for about twelve cumulative hours this weekend and thought I was submitting it before the actual due date. Ha.

At any rate: great assignment, great resources, easy to use. A+
